HOW TO ORDER
Before you start - What To Send Us Photographs: Ensure all photographs are not stuck together and are free of dirt and dust. If cleaning is required, wipe photographs with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth using minimal pressure. Do NOT use liquids or abrasives to clean the photographs. Photographs must be on standard white photo stock with either a gloss or matte finish. NO textured paper photo stock should be included. Textured photo stock is sometimes used to prevent scanning. The textured stock reflects light distorting the image. If you must include textured stock photographs, DVD Video Albums cannot guarantee the quality of these scanned images. 3” x 3” to 4” x 6” photographs will be scanned via an automated photo feeder. We take extreme care not to damage any photographs during the scanning process. Our high precision scanner utilizes a stream of air to “float” your photographs not allowing the photo side to touch any surface during the scan process. Each photograph will not be scanned more than twice. Any photograph smaller than 3” x 3” or larger than 4” x 6”, or fragile photographs will be scanned manually (see cost charts for manual scanning).
STEP 1 – Organize Your Photos and Video Arrange your photographs. in the order which you wish them to be presented in your production. Please refer to your package selection for photo quantity limits. Ensure that the photographs are all positioned in order and face up. Number your photographs. Use a felt pen or marker to number the back of the photographs in the bottom left corner starting with the number “1” and ending with the last number equal to the quantity of photos you have (e.g. if you have 165 photos the 1st photo would be #1 and the last photo would be #165) . It is recommended that you NOT use a pen or pencil to number the photographs as this may leave imprints on you photos or leave residue during the scan process. Package your photographs. Once numbered and in order, segregate the photos into groups of 20 to 30 photos per group. Each group will become its own slide show segment in the video. Wrap each group of photos in a piece of 8 ½” x 11” paper and place the photographs into envelopes. Do NOT use staples, paper clips, or Post-It notes. Doing so would require us to strip these from your photos prior to scanning, adding to the cost of scanning your photos. Label the envelopes. Mark each envelop with a group number (e.g. Put a “1” on the 1st envelope, “2” on the 2nd, etc.). Captions or Music. If you are ordering text Captions, on a separate sheet of paper write the photo number followed by the caption you wish included during your production. Also, if you are providing music, on the same sheet of paper list a song title for each envelope.
